The Elements of Digital Learning
The Digital Learning Council was convened in 2010 to define the policies that will integrate current and future technological innovations into public education. The Digital Learning Council unites a diverse group of more than 50 leaders from education, government, philanthropy, business, technology, and think tanks to develop the roadmap of reform for local, state and federal lawmakers and policymakers.

The Elements of Digital Learning, along with actions for lawmakers, were released at the 2010 Excellence in Action National Summit on Education Reform on December 1 in Washington, D.C.


Getting Smart
Getting Smart is a community of advocates, innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors seeking to improve student learning worldwide. Getting Smart serves as a catalyst for innovation in the education sector by encouraging entrepreneurship and promoting public and private investment in new learning tools, schools, and platforms.


Innosight Institute
Innosight Institute’s Education Practice’s mission is to apply Harvard Business School Professor Clayton Christensen’s theories of disruptive innovation to develop and promote solutions to the problems of education. is an alliance of parents that supports and defends parents’ rights to access the best public school options for their children. The Coalition supports the creation of public school options, including charter schools, online schools, magnet schools, tuition scholarship programs,open enrollment policies and other innovative education programs.


iNACOL, The International Association for K-12 Online Learning, is a non-profit organization that facilitates collaboration, advocacy, and research to enhance quality K-12 online teaching and learning.  iNACOL strives to ensure all students have access to a world-class education and quality online learning opportunities that prepare them for a lifetime of success.


Keeping Pace Report
Keeping Pace has several goals. First, it strives to add to the body of knowledge about online education policy and practice, and make recommendations for advances. Second, it serves as a reference source for information about programs and policies across the country, both for policymakers and practitioners who are new to online education, and for those who have extensive experience in the field. Third, because there has been so much online education activity in the past year, the report attempts to capture new activity.
